With an insider's perspective
You can pick your car directly at Faro airport, or at their offices in Lagos. It is advisable to book in advance, especially during holiday seasons, and this would also have the benefit of saving money on taxi fares, bus, trains, etc. However if this is your first visit to Lagos and you have not previously driven in Portugal, you may wish to get to your destination first and then hire a car in Lagos, giving you the chance to practise a little before heading for the major roads.
