The Venue
It used to be the "Old Tavern" in Lagos. Paul the owner has made some interesting changes to the place. It has a L-shape room, a large snooker table, as well as other game perihelia, not to mention some large TVs where you can enjoy a game with your friends. However, it’s cosy and comfortable.
The Atmosphere
The bar staff are friendly and helpful, and the clientele is a mixture of individuals, local groups as well as couples across all ages. During the winter months the bar is a place to enjoy a laid back chat to the sound of music, rather than a pre-club venue to get you in the mood for a big night out. However, in the summer expect plenty of loud music and a very lively atmosphere.
The Food
They offer you only light snacks rather than meals. During lunch time you can get their take-away "Lunch Box" for 5 Euros, this is value for money, as you get a sandwich or baguette with a filling, one drink (Coke or beer), one small chocolate bar, one packet of crisps and a small bottle of water.
The Drinks
The drinks really stand out. Their Cocktails menu includes the traditional suspects, like screwdrivers, blue lagoon, etc at 4.50 Euros each or for 8 Euros if you take two of the same. Mojitos and Daiquiris will cost you 5 Euros each, and shots 2 Euros.
The Last Word
Relaxed and not at all pretentious Phoenix Nights is worthy of more than one visit.
