Tips on How to Design a New Bathroom or Re-design Your Old One
Are you planning to build a new bathroom in your home? Or are you just planning on re-doing your old bathroom and turn it into a whole new bathroom?
Whatever you reason is, there are a variety of things that you have to keep in mind. After all, you should design your new bathroom to look not only fantastic but one that will be functional and practical too.
Whatever you reason is, there are a variety of things that you have to keep in mind. After all, you should design your new bathroom to look not only fantastic but one that will be functional and practical too.
In this article, we are giving you some common sense tips to make your life a lot easier.
First of all, you need to make sure that you make your bathroom pratical. When you are designing your bathroom, don't just follow the latest trends, you need to consider going with a design that you'll not only like now, but you will still like many years from now.
In addition, re-do your bathroom with prospective buyers in mind. I know, I know, you are not thinking of selling your home, but we never known what tomorrow may bring, and if you are going to make a major investment, make sure that it will be for something that will not negatively affect the price of your home later on. Ask yourself, will buyers want to purchase a home with this bathroom? Will you still like this bathroom later on? Keep these thoughts in mind when you are conceptualising and creating the design for your bathroom.
You need to think of the space that you have available when you are designing a new bathroom as well. If you have enough space, make use of it. Going with a nice double sink is a great idea. Make sure that you include plenty of storage in your bathroom as well. This way you don't have to make room for the storage of bathroom items in other rooms.
This helps you to keep the bathroom well organized and looking great too.
Even if you have a smaller bathroom, as it is so typical here in the Algarve, there are a number of great things that you can do to make the most of the space and to make the bathroom appear bigger than it is. You can use flooring that is light and reflective to make your bathroom look bigger. Going with mirrors is also a great way to make the room look bigger because the mirrors will reflect all of the light in the bathroom. Another trick is to use the right lighting to make your bathroom look bigger. Adding skylights and windows can also help to provide you with that feeling of more space as well.
Think of visual appeal when you are designing the bathroom. This is so important. Not only should your bathroom be functional for you, but you should make sure that it has great visual appeal. Use colors that go together well and add the right furniture and accessories to your bathroom so that you have a bathroom that looks incredible.
Of course, even if you do design your bathroom yourself, there is one important thing to remember:- getting the job well done. This means that unless you are an artisan yourself, you need to get qualified people to do your plumbing, eletrical works and even your tiling. This is one of the areas in your home that it really pays you to get qualified people doing the work.
In Lagos, you can find many suppliers of good bathroom fittings and fixtures and some very good artisans. So, shop around and see what is on offer.
