Mitico Bar

Whether you’re looking to inject a bit of class into your cocktail night or party with the best of them in Lagos, Mitico Bar is an affordable answer to your prayers. With a great location, superb innovative cocktails, light meals and a friendly atmosphere, Mitico Bar is certainly worth hunting out.

And if dancing the Salsa and other hip shaking dances is your scene then, you must do yourself a favour and join them every Saturday night, and if you are a Salsa novice, don't fret, there are teachers to take you through the paces.

All in all, Mitico Bar is a very nice place to chill out in Lagos.

The Venue
Located out of the main buzz of the town, close to the Camping Site "The Trindade", on the road to Ponta da Piedade and Praia de Dona Ana, this venue boasts a cool and stylish décor.

Sidle past its esplanade and park yourself on a seat opposite the bar. This is easy on a week night, but on a Friday or Saturday night, you’ll want to claim a spot early on, as the bar is small and seating isn’t abundant. Lighting is not too dim and everything, from the orange and black effects of the decor, to the pictures adorning the bar, is simple, stylish, clean and bright.

The Atmosphere
The crowd largely depends on when you go. On a week day evening you can expect to see ladies drinking cocktails and chatting, and men making business calls – there’s a relaxed vibe, but this doesn’t feel like a typical ‘quick drink after work’ venue - Mitico Bar is somewhere you go for a reason.

Despite the indisputable splendor of the service and setting, Mitico Bar boasts a vibrant and chatty atmosphere that’s borne from customers who appear genuinely relaxed and enjoying themselves. And as well they might. Many, it appears, are regular visitors to the pub, or are those lucky enough to realize that looking a little deeper into Lagos can be a very rewarding exercise indeed.

On weekends, it is bustling with thirty-somethings dancing to Salsa, R&B and club classics. There really is a party atmosphere here and, on weekend evenings, it’s not somewhere to pop in for a beer on your way home or catch up with a friend you haven’t seen in a while. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

The Food
It’s mostly party type food on offer. They offer a nice variety of light snacks and tapas. The prices are reasonable.

The Drink
With the pub counter overlooking by a superbly stocked bar and a offering of some really staggering cocktails, Mitico Bar has a selection of drinks that can at least attempt to rival the exquisite music and decor. The concise list rises up steadily to some excellent more expensive options, so there really is a good choice for all budgets. For those looking for beer there’s an adequate range of European options in bottles and on draught. To finish, the coffee is suitably potent and well worth exploring.

An Insider's Perpective
Comment from a patron "The teacher was really funny, and as we were all beginners and pretty useless at the dance it was great to have someone so patient and entertaining. Great food and even greater cocktails, and then the place really heats up with the most amazing atmosphere, unlike other clubs I've been to in other areas, here everyone seems to just talk to everyone. I'd never danced Salsa before yet people still asked me to dance, which was really nice".

The Last Word
Mitico Bar boasts an intimate seclusion from passing tourists and less informed visitors to Lagos. Mitico Bar is a party venue that guarantees a lively night out in Lagos especially during the high season. If you're partying here on Fridays and Saturdays, make sure you arrive early to claim your spot.
